The Waldorf Wind Symphony of Waldorf College, Iowa

The program will be tailored to suit a Mother’s Day celebration. It will feature a wide range of works, including pieces rooted in the
traditions of folk-song, dance and jazz.
“Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ is one of the ensemble’s audience favorites,” said Scott Robertson, Trinity’s Director of Music. “They’ll also play other pieces that should be familiar to many in the audience, including ‘Amazing Grace.’ This will be an enjoyable concert that will appeal to mothers on Mother’s Day.”
The touring group’s 40 musicians will be under the direction of Dr. Brent Dodson, who earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Trumpet Performance at The Julliard School in New York City.

Taste of Trinity - April 19
Apr. 19, 2009 Haley SmithTrinity will present its first-ever “Taste of Trinity” on Sunday, April 19, 2009, from noon ‘til 2 P.M. in the gym.
The event will feature scrumptious food of Trinity’s best cooks and delightful, eclectic music. The cooks will offer a wide range of specialties in a smorgasbord of culinary delights. Three acclaimed music ensembles will perform--The Dill Pickers, The United Methodist Brass Quintet, and Alabama’s Dixieland Band. Each music group has connections with Trinity. All who come can hear joyful music while sampling some of the best foods Trinity cooks can offer.
“Taste of Trinity” is a fund-raiser and is open to the public. Proceeds will support the church’s Cross and Flame Youth Choir for its singing and mission tour to Colorado in June. Tickets are available at the church office (879-1737), or at the door on April 19. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 4-12. There is no charge for children ages 3 and under.
“We’re headlining this as a culinary celebration, but the three music groups easily have as much crowd appeal for the event as the delicious food does,” said Janet Cox, event coordinator.
