Vote for our choir!

Dec. 10, 2011 Haley Smith

If You Think Trinity’s Sanctuary Choir Is Wonderful…(and who doesn’t?) Please Vote!

Each year, The Birmingham News, in its “City Scene” supplement on Fridays, conducts a poll of “The Best of Birmingham.” Readers can vote online for their favorite restaurant, tourist attraction, ice cream parlor and the like. Why are we telling you this? Because there is a category that Trinity folks are encouraged to vote on and with good reason – “The Best Church Choir.”

At Trinity, we are blessed with an exceptional, eclectic music ministry that features the Sanctuary Choir, Orchestra and a host of other accomplished ensembles and individuals – all under the great leadership of Scott Robertson.

Show your support for the majestic music our Sanctuary Choir provides us each week by voting for our choir. You can vote by using the paper ballot in the December 2 “City Scene” or you vote online CLICK HERE.

Voting started on December 2, and your vote must be in to The News by 5 pm on December 19.  You must vote in at least ten categories for your vote to be counted.

The first round of voting is for our nominations in the various categories.
Let’s vote our choir into the finals and on to VICTORY!  The News will announce winners in City Scene on Friday, December 30.

Taste of Trinity - April 19

Apr. 19, 2009 Haley Smith

Trinity will present its first-ever “Taste of Trinity” on Sunday, April 19, 2009, from noon ‘til 2 P.M. in the gym.

The event will feature scrumptious food of Trinity’s best cooks and delightful, eclectic music.  The cooks will offer a wide range of specialties in a smorgasbord of culinary delights. Three acclaimed music ensembles will perform--The Dill Pickers, The United Methodist Brass Quintet, and Alabama’s Dixieland Band.  Each music group has connections with Trinity. All who come can hear joyful music while sampling some of the best foods Trinity cooks can offer.

“Taste of Trinity” is a fund-raiser and is open to the public.  Proceeds will support the church’s Cross and Flame Youth Choir for its singing and mission tour to Colorado in June.  Tickets are available at the church office (879-1737), or at the door on April 19.  Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 4-12.  There is no charge for children ages 3 and under.

“We’re headlining this as a culinary celebration, but the three music groups easily have as much crowd appeal for the event as the delicious food does,” said Janet Cox, event coordinator.
