Donate to the Community Furniture Bank!

Have furniture you’ve out-grown? Donate it now to the Community Furniture Bank!

It is so sad to see various types of usable furniture sitting out on the street waiting to be picked up by the garbage truck.  We in Homewood are blessed with so much that it’s easy to loose perspective as to what’s valuable. Sadly, people who have lost everything—or who do not have anything to start with—would be delighted to gain some of the things we throw away, even if they are “gently used.” One of our Trinity members, Chris Yarboro, has started the COMMUNITY FURNITURE BANK.  This is a wonderful ministry which picks up and transports your old or unused furniture to a warehouse, and then works with area agencies to deliver it to individuals in need.

Refrigerators and appliances are especially needed.  For furniture pickup, call the Community Furniture Bank at (205) 942-2727, Visit their website at http://www.communityfurniturebank.org.

By donating instead of adding more “stuff” to our landfills, you can help save the planet, too!
