Strengths! coming this fall!

This class is built to help folks identify where to serve OR how to use your strengths most effectively in your current place of ministry.  This class is insightful, practical, and fun--it is based on the book “Now, Discover Your Strengths” by Gallup Poll. Many corporations use the online tool to build successful teams and develop their employees. Now, many UMCs in our conference are using it to build ministry teams. 

Dates are as follows:
SUNDAYS @ 6pm:  Sept 7, 14, 21, 28
WEDNESDAYS @ 6pm:  Sept 3, 10, 17, 24
SUNDAYS @ 4pm:  Oct 5, 12, 19, 26
WEDNESDAYS @ 6pm:  Oct 8, 15, 22, 29
THURSDAYS @ 9.30AM:  Sept 4, 11, 18, 25

Trinity Members are a part of Metro Methodism!

Trinity Members Alisha Johnson, Ken Stalnaker, Melinda Underwood, and Sean Wessel are all participating in the North Alabama’s Metro Methodism Class of 2008.  This is a ministry where representatives from churches around our conference meet together for a year and learn more about who we are as Christians, United Methodists, and where we are going as a church in the future.  Melinda Underwood wrote the following article on their opening experience:  http://www.northalabamaumc.org/news_detail.asp?pkvalue=294

January is Lay Involvement Month!

January 2008 will mark Trinity’s 6th annual Lay Involvement Month!  We will continue to embrace our stewardship theme “Many Gifts, One Spirit” and we will explore our CONNECTIONS to God, to ministry, and to each other.  Sunday, January 6th we will kick off the month with church-wide trainings led by Fred Whaples of GROUP! 9:45 AM •• FREE Breakfast in the Fellowship Hall!
Learn about the many ministry opportunities from those who know best – the ones currently involved! Ministries represented will include Church of the Reconciler, Greeters, Van Drivers, and more! First 500 to visit a booth will receive a tote bag to gather info on each ministry!

SUNDAY JANUARY 20 • HANDS IN MINISTRY

5:15 PM •• Free Dinner, with donation of a non-perishable food item.
5:45 PM •• Hands in Ministry Event •• Bring the whole family and put your hands in ministry! Make PB&J’s for the homeless, write letters to shut-ins, restock cards in the Sanctuary and more!

The Constitution Convention Coalition Summit is THIS Saturday at Birmingham-Southern College--deadline to register is Tomorrow, Wednesday, November 14th. 

The Constitution Convention Coalition
invites you to the
2007 Annual Summit

On Saturday, November 17th, the Constitution Convention Coalition will hold its annual summit at Birmingham Southern College (900 Arkadelphia Road · Birmingham, AL 35254) from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  The Coalition is made up of over 30 non-profit organizations from across Alabama who are dedicated to rewriting the Alabama Constitution. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend and learn about new initiatives underway to move the effort forward, including information and new resources available for informing citizens, and draft Legislation and Legislative issues in the 2008 Legislative Session.

Your input and participation is most important in planning our 2008 goals and in discussing topics such as Advocacy for 501(c)(3) Organizations; Constitutional Reform Background Training and Talking Points; How to Find Your Organization’s Niche in the Constitutional Reform Movement; College and University Idea Sharing; and Lessons Learned in Hosting Constitutional Reform House Parties.  Community leaders from all over the State will be present. Please make sure that you and your organization are represented in this effort to move Alabama forward.

Admission is free and open to the public. Limited travel scholarships are available.
Lunch will be provided at no cost.
