September 20 - UMW General Meeting
Sep. 20, 2010 Amanda HolderThe UMW September General meeting speaker will be Victor Duang Deng a “Lost Boy” from Sudan. “In 1987, when he was about 8 years old, his village in southern Sudan was raided by armed gunmen. Marauders from the north killed men and took women and girls as slaves. Boys were left to wander.”. Our opportunity to hear Victor’s story is made possible through an organization Make Way Partners. This is the link if you would like to look at their organization. Make Way Partners. As usual UMW members do not need to purchase tickets, but do need to make reservations through their circles. Dinner will be served family style at 6pm. The program will begin at 7pm. Tickets will be for sale in the church office till September 15th and in the Narthex on September 12th. We are opening up dinner and the program churchwide. The program itself will be announced in local churches and the general public.
